May 27, 2010

1:00 to 4:00
To be held at the Institute for Work & Health (IWH)

Funding agencies are increasingly requiring knowledge transfer and exchange (KTE) plans as a core element in research grants. Researchers who want to be competitive and attain funding need to have a basic understanding of KTE and how it can be incorporated into their research projects.

IWH has had an active knowledge transfer group in place for 10 years. Come and hear about their successes and lessons learned.

Who should attend: Researchers interested in improving their KTE plans and execution. Researchers should bring a project that they are working on or planning to submit for funding.

Format: Half-day workshop combines a series of short lectures and exercises, led by Institute staff. Handout material will be provided.

Topics include:

  • an overview of KTE
  • KTE in the grant writing process, during the project and at the completion of the project. options on how to evaluate the impact of KTE
  • small group activities, to assist participants in applying these concepts to their current research.

A final agenda will be circulated prior to the workshop.
